Psychopaths

Who are they? What they we even know about them? Are they just murderers, rapists?

Mentally Retarded? Well for starters, more than 25% of the US population has reported having some sort of mental disorder. The disorder varies from anything from a migraine to Schizophrenia.

After all, it is all in the head. It’s the mind that is altered during these conditions that in turn alters the victim to a semi-conscious state in which he does all sort of weird stuff.

So what exactly defines a psychopath?

Psychopaths display different traits depending on their disorder, but common signs include superficial charm, a grandiose notion of self-worth, the need for stimulation and impulsiveness, pathological lying, the ability to manipulate others and a lack of remorse and empathy.

Don’t we all?

Ain’t we all just mentally disturbed. Lost in our paths. Life is a distraction from reality. What we see is what we perceive. And whatever we perceive becomes our reality. Part and parcel of our everyday life. Our mind does all this work for us. “I think therefore I am.” Words by Rene Descartes, a philosopher. It tells us his perception of his mind. Where he knows that he his existing only in his mind and because of his mind, without his mind, he doesn’t exist. Well, he could’ve also been talking about his soul but then again he was a philosopher. The mind is hence, in fact, the most powerful tool that we can use to change the world. But what are we up to?

So what makes people different? What alters their minds?

Like in American Psycho, psychopaths can be intelligent and charming, while lacking empathy. A self-confessed psychopath generally behaves to gain the trust of others and then just do whatever he wants to do with them. Who do you understand the mind of such a person? What is he thinking? Why ?

Movies have thought us in many ways how weirdly the mind plays with us. In Fight Club, by David Fincher, he shows us how the mind has to ability to create its own reality. Sort of a reality distortion. And the mind itself is capable of handling a bullet in the head. Because the power of belief is so.

Anyways our topic is psychopaths. The murderers and the crazy loonies roaming the streets. What are the signs of a psychopath? How would you recognize him? Are they really that different? Well, in fact, they are not, they can be people you meet daily and you will not know. They can portray a charming personality to get close to you. They know and understand how your mind operates, how you operate. Hence try to impress you. Most people find psychopaths intriguing, although they don’t know why. So who are they, and why? “Some men just want to watch the world burn” (The dark knight), are they wrong?

  1. Interesting thoughts.

I reckon everyone has a diagnosable disorder or at least one psychiatrists could create and slap in the DSM-1 Million

Psychopaths are intriguing, and sociopaths even more so in a way because they have similar traits and hold positions of power quite frequently, horrible people like Trump are able to captivate with their ebullience and ego, weeping up morons with their overflowing confidence.
